In this difficult moment that humanity is going through, many professional sportsmen and women have reinvented themselves to continue working on their sporting goals and not stop the work they have been doing, this time from their homes.

Platforms to compete with others in the digital arena are becoming increasingly popular.

Such is the case of the Digital Swiss 5 event where the world’s leading professional cycling teams have confirmed their participation in this series of races. Created in response to the COVID19 pandemic with the purpose of keeping sports fans and giving racers the opportunity to compete with each other.

The series is scheduled for April 22-26, the stages of the competition will be the Tour de Suisse carried out with real images in video and feeling of effort depending on the topography of the race.

From home it continues the hard work to stay fit and focused on goals.

This is reflected by different professional sportsmen and women who keep their exercises at home up to date.

The development and running of this virtual competition will be in charge of Velon, organizers of the Swiss round and the cycling simulator of Czech origin, Rouvy.

How does this virtual competition work?

The competitors’ bikes are placed and connected on their own simulators. They are put on the platform thanks to the Rouvy application and the competitors will see on their monitors, in real time, the position in which they are advancing, the profile of the stage, the climbs and descents or flat terrain.

There are other digital competition platforms, apart from Rouvy in charge of carrying out the Digital Swiss 5.

Zwift  This physical training program is the current market leader.

Bkool

It is a Spanish company, was the first company to develop a virtual platform for cycling rollers and with it you can design the training plan to follow.

RGT Cycling

Other digital competition platforms that should not be underestimated are:

The human being is adapting, more and more convinced that the impossible can be achieved, while the new goals are achieved people are adapting to a new lifestyle.

This is the case of professional athletes where they have changed the way they train from the warmth of their homes and more and more competitions are being held in the digital arena.

Cycling is one of the most practiced sports these days despite the restrictions.

The rollers or cycling simulators have been exhausted and competitions and virtual cycling challenges have not stopped being organized.
